Hope is here
Banfield Foundation’s HOPE Funds--Helping Overcome Pet Emergencies-- provides income-qualified pet owners with access to critical care for their pet experiencing a life-threatening emergency. When Banfield clients need help most, our Associates partner with the Banfield Foundation to utilize the program. While these pet owners may not have the financial resources to pay for an unexpected emergency, they do have as much love and concern for their pet as any other client.
Mr. Fry, a veteran, brought Jasmine to Banfield in Portland, Oregon when he noticed she wasn’t feeling well. Our team worked with him to diagnose her with Pyometra, a uterine infection, but Mr. Fry was not able to afford the cost of surgery with his veteran pension. Dr. Boutet and Dr. May helped him apply for HOPE Funds, which contributed towards life-saving care.
“Jasmine is my best friend and I’ve had her since she was three months old. It was scary when she had her emergency not only because she wasn’t feeling well, but because I didn’t have time to financially prepare for the cost. Knowing that her friends at Banfield and the Banfield Foundation cared about us gave me hope. I would have been terribly heartbroken if I had to say goodbye to her because I could not afford her operation. Because of the HOPE Funds program, Jasmine got a second chance at life and I’m thankful this program exists to keep pets and the people who love them together.”
